Big John's Pickled Sausage Reuben Sandwich
Ingredients:
5-Big John's Pickled sausage or 5 Big John's Pickled sausage Red Hots
6-tablespoons Thousand Island Dressing
4-pieces Swiss cheese (or your favorite cheese)
2-cups sauerkraut (be sure to drain and squeeze out "ALL" the kraut juice, otherwise your sandwich will be a soup sandwich)
4-pieces of dark rye bread (you could use any rye or bread of your choice, I like the dark rye)
Directions:
Slice the 5 Big John's Pickled sausages in half lengthwise, making 10 halves, 5 per sandwich.
Lightly toast the pieces of dark rye bread.
Lightly butter and place buttered side down in preheated frying pan,
Apply an even coat of Thousand Island dressing on both pieces of bread.
Place 2 pieces of the Swiss cheese onto each piece of bread making sure they overlap each other and don't hang out of the bread too much, you don't want to burn your cheese.
Place 5 halves on each piece of bread on top of cheese.
Place 1 even cup of kraut on each half.
Place a piece of dark rye buttered side up on sandwiches frying in pan.
Cook time on each side is 3-5 minutes depending on how crispy you like your bread.
